The All-Powerful Traxxas E-Revo
By Brian Bruner

Racing radio-controlled cars is a very fun and addictive hobby. Though they really are just smaller toys for the big boys, these serious-looking playthings are made with superb engineering and industrial design. They can run faster than remote-controlled toys that bought in toy stores, and they are driven like the real thing. Because of that, they bring lots of excitement. Traxxas, a Texas-based company, is a creator and manufacturer of these radio-controlled playthings; they make both electric-powered and nitro-powered cars, trucks and boats. The following is an overview of the Traxxas E-Revo, a very powerful electric-powered monster truck.

The Traxxas E-Revo did not earn its reputation as a demon of the road for nothing. With its sophisticated machinery and advanced technology, it promises adrenaline-filled, wheel-twisting and rock-pounding action. It rages the rugged off-road terrain with a monstrous blaze. The Traxxas E-Revo is the electric-powered version of the Traxxas Revo; and it is generally ranked among the higher end of radio-controlled trucks. For the more extreme performance, the E-Revo is also available in a 'brushless edition' (a brushless motor means, barring any technical jargons, longer run times and unlimited power).

The Traxxas E-Revo's exterior features includes a ProGraphix painted body, and is available in various graphic designs and different color schemes. ProGraphix is method of body-painting that produces crisp colors, clean lines and smooth fades. As for its big wheels, this radio-controlled truck is equipped with 3.8 inch black-chrome Gemini wheels, mounted with Talon tires. The Traxxas E-Revo measures 22.91 inches in length, 8.275 inches in height and weighs 151 ounces. It is quite big and heavy. Its front and rear tracks measure 16.38 inches and 16.48 inches, respectively.

The Traxxas company says this radio-controlled truck is the most advanced electric-powered monster truck ever made. Under the body, the Traxxas E-Revo is equipped with a 21-turn Twin Titan fan-cooled 550 motor; which has 30% longer armature than most stock motors. Truly a superb and sophisticated engineering by Traxxas. Aside from that, this radio-controlled truck uses the EVX-2 waterproof electronic speed control; is powered by either two 7.2 volts NiCad/NiMH or 6/7-cell stick packs. It is also equipped with dual digital high-torque steering servos and four channel micro receiver.

Like most of Traxxas' products, the Traxxas E-Revo's inner parts are all waterproof and watertight. This enables the radio-controlled truck to rage even in the most unfriendly driving conditions, whether it be rain, mud, snow and sand. The standard E-Revo has a top speed of up to 30+ mph, while the Brushless Edition runs, thanks to its brushless motor, with an incredible 65+ mph. Aside from that, this edition is equipped with an all-new Traxxas TQ 2.4 Ghz radio system. But whether it is the Standard or the Brushless Edition, the Traxxas E-Revo is sure to bring lots of radio-controlled fun and excitement.
